more hanging pots!

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

The shop is updated with hanging flower pots!
This second batch are a little larger so that they fit a small or medium sized inner pot, they are now also available with four or with six horns.

Especially the six horned variety is larger in size and there is a choice between it hanging with or without ‘pegs’. If you choose a pot without pegs you can easily remove the yarn it hangs from to make a standing pot.

Waiting to be planted. Bigger.

Today is a breathtakingly sunny day here in Stockholm, the snow is all gone! I’m doing a new display at manos and the theme is “The Undisturbed Garden of Harmony”. It’ll be winding rose garlands, plant pots with awakening seedlings, lots of low wide bowls filled with water and porcelain pebbles…

manos turned one year yesterday! hipp hipp hurray! I can’t believe it was one year ago I was making cucumber nibbles and nervously waiting to see how many would turn up for the opening evening… We celebrated yesterday with a delicious kladdkaka that Josephine had made for the occasion.

Thank you all for writing about, shopping from and in general being so encouraging about manos!

A small token of my appreciation: during the rest of the month, all orders from manos above USD 25 will receive a porcelain pebble with a small or a big butterfly.

manos is updated with one off little bowls combined with beautiful makramé clothsStem vases and some sale items. For instance the vase above, I’m so pleased with that vase – the shape is well balanced and the pattern works the shape really well. And then I forgot to wipe the glaze off properly from the bottom so it stuck a little to the kiln shelf… No one would notice though if they didn’t turn it upside down.

Next week I’ll be adding “all white” ceramics to the webshop. There will also be a selection of vases very modestly priced as they have small “esthetique faults”.

manos is all set for this weekends Christmas market at Överjärva Gård. Extra long opening hours – Saturday and Sunday 6-7th December 10-4 pm. There are so many beautiful gifts – look hereherehere and here!

Nicole did a very festive and lovely window display, the charming flower arrangements are by Batoul at flowersflow and the new sign is so great.

I’ve added some more gold star pebbles to the shop as well as some of the rosehip treasures above that Nicole did the other day.

See you at the Christmas market, have a good weekend!

Last week we were painting and drilling in order to put up lighting in manos. I still need to buy some cable but it feels as if a well lit shop is within reach.

The new exhibition – Friends and Aquaintances – is also up with beautiful paper dolls by Ana Ventura, charming handmade dolls by Wawaya and maldimaglia, cushions by Jenny Almén, textiles by Processor and Camillas calendar fit in so well so it’s joined in too.

It’s a joy having all these wonderful items in the shop, here are more images (scroll down).

I’ve got some adorable and beautiful handmade dolls from ItalyJapan and Portugal coming in to the shop. They’ll all be part of the next exhibition at manos: Friends and Aquaintances, opening Thursday 30th October. I can’t wait for you to meet them all…

The title of the exhibition comes from the fabric Friends and Aquaintances by design group Processor whose work is always available at manos.
