Today I’ve been inspired by the book Berlin Fashion by Julia Stelzner. I love looking at the fashion, I love reading the short texts about small up-and-coming brands and I love finding my way to beautiful and harmonious fashion shows like Berlin based sustainable brand Umasans Winter 2014:

When Camilla and I realized that our friendship this fall celebrates ten years, we thought something special was needed to mark the anniversary. So we created a set of cups in our own specialities – Camillas illustrations paired with my ceramics. Making a set of cups feels like the ultimate way to celebrate friendship and moments of togetherness.

From November 10-15th, webshop nuno dodo will visit manos with a great selection of sustainable childrens clothing from esencia, aarekid and Chaleca. It was through Caroline who run nuno dodo that I first was introduced to the childrens clothes from esencia. I wanted them all – but in my size!! Now I sell the women’s collection here at manos (also in the webshop) and it’s just as fantastic as the kids collection. Welcome to try them both this week!
It doesn’t happen very often that I stroll in Gamla Stan (the old town) with my mother, but last Saturday it did! We’d been told about a new gallery with an exhibition that we both were keen to see. Galleri Yamanashi is situated on Köpmantorget 10 in Gamla Stan and the work on show is clothes and lights by Issey Miakey, sculptural and foldable made in recycled plastic. It’s hard to believe that it is only plastic and it’s amazing how a flat folded square can become a stunningly sculpted skirt or top. I’d wear it anytime. The work is aerily and beautifully displayed.
We strolled around, visiting Fartygsmagasinet, Happy Stockholm and Ljunggrens papper. We had afternoon tea at Chaikana, beautifully situated tea house just by the German church. A lovely, if a little pricey, way to take tea!
Further away for me, the exhibition The Future of Fashion is Now is on at Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam. I’d love to visit that.
I’ve spent the start of the week in Gothenburg, visiting my friend and illustrator/painter extraordinaire Camilla Engman. It’s always great and fun to spend time with Camilla, I love being in her studio with a cup of coffee, freeflowing conversations and laughter.
I’ve brought back a whole lot of prints to manos and I can’t wait to show them in the shop! It’s a couple of Mr Mustache screen prints, some glicéprints and also two fantastic multicoloured screen prints printed in Portugal at CPS.
I also can’t wait to show you the lovely set of mugs that we’re working on. They’ll be ready and in the shop in late October / early November. They’ll mark our 10-year anniversary and it feels like the best way to do it! More on that soon.

Now that Yvonne will be here, I’m planning to be a lot more active here on the blog, on instagram, on facebook and in the webshop.
I already have been busy in the webshop actually, adding the wonderful A/W collection of wool clothes from esencia. Beautiful, timeless designs in high quality natural materials. Go explore!
Cherrie branches in the window and tulip buds resting on an oval-shaped stoneware dish that I’ve started making and fallen in love with! And in the same window the wonderful scented candles from KOBO, each and every one smells fantastic.
And yesterday we had semla! I thought I’d have to que up outside the bakery like everyone else (it was the day for semla), but found two delicious looking (and – as it turned out – tasting) semlor at Lima deli on Åsögatan.

So, this third year of manos being on Renstiernas gata is drawing to a close… I love being in my shop and steering it in the direction I feel is right, sLowly and intuitively. Thank you for cheering me on and supporting me on this journey, without you this adventure would’nt be possible! I wish you all a happy and inspiring new year!
I’m doing some plant care as they’ve all been sadly neglected through the busy time before Christmas. Lots of little drying leaves to nip off and nutrition to be portioned out.
manos is open but not at all busy, leaving me time to catch up on a bunch of must read blogs* while sipping my coffee and listening to Gretchen Parlato, Julio Iglesias, Concha Buika and other favourites.
