Vendor: Martin de la Foi
Type:
Price: 700.00

Blue and White Pillow Case Made From Vintage Linen ”Guest Towels” (with the swedish word for guest ”gäst” embroidered on it).

Swedish photographer Martin de la Foi found himself with a collection of linen when his parents passed away. Carefully handmade and embroidered by his mother or her mother… All of them carrying too much soul for him to ignore. It would be a shame to move them into yet another closet. And it would be a shame to end their extraordinary life in yet another kitchen. So he decided to bring them to life by giving them a new purpose. Relieving them from the hard work of being a kitchen towel by offering a better and more relaxed role in the comfort of a home. Each cushion is unique and named after Martins relatives.

Size: 46 x 39 cm (18.1 x 15.3 inches)

Material: Linen. Please note: This pillow case is sewn from towels that have been used for generations. The fabric may have minor discolorations.

Care: Can be washed in the washing machine at up to 60 degrees C. Treat spots as soon as possible. Bile soap or linseed oil soap works on most stains. Never use bleach on linen. Red wine stains are treated with boiling water. Pour the water through the stain with a bowl underneath.

Lower or remove the spin completely if possible. Tumble drying shortens the life span of the linen.

Stretch the linen after wash and hang it to dry. Mangle or iron well dampened on high temperature.
