Spring feeling

Monday, March 9th, 2015

Spoons by Marie Eklund, ceramics by Karin Eriksson, Monkey poster by Walnut & Walrus.

It’s a beautiful sunny and warm spring day in Stockholm today. I treasure hearing the gravel under my feet on the dry pavement, not having to worry that I’ll slide and trip on the ice that is usually there during winters here in Sweden.

Papier macher birds by Sara Hjelmstedt, Paper cutting by Ida Björs.

It’s spring in the shop too, with new window displays and a brand new clothes line for manos – welcome Nygårdsanna!

I’ll have to tell you more about the amazing spoons that you can see in the photo at the top, but that’ll have to wait until another day – and not a month, I promise ;)

Support craft and creativity!

After a great private view evening, the pop-up craft shop is now open both Saturday and Sunday 11-5 pm and I tell you that you’ll be missing a great thing if you don’t come to visit! Creative, up-and-coming, independent designers showing inspiring crafts. Support them! Thank you Sara Söderberg for doing a brilliant job with pulling the pop-up craft shop together, I look forward to many more collaborations!

fallen in love with

Wednesday, February 13th, 2013

Cherrie branches in the window and tulip buds resting on an oval-shaped stoneware dish that I’ve started making and fallen in love with! And in the same window the wonderful scented candles from KOBO, each and every one smells fantastic.

And yesterday we had semla! I thought I’d have to que up outside the bakery like everyone else (it was the day for semla), but found two delicious looking (and – as it turned out – tasting) semlor at Lima deli on Åsögatan.

PS The sale continues for another two days in the webshop!

Lupin and shop vacation

Sunday, January 6th, 2013

The shop is closed for vacation between now and January 18th when we open again with the end-of-season sale! While we’re closed we’re showing two fine carpets in the windows, both from the range “Lupin” designed by Lisa Vilhelmson for Almedahls. Lisa also designs the terry cloth towels in a happy range of colours that we sell at manos.
See you again on the 18th!

Christmas at manos!

Thursday, December 20th, 2012

It’s a busy December here and I love a busy shop! I’m making it as beautiful an experience as I can to come in here. It smells lovely of an aromathic oil blend from Nea’ls Yard Remedies and Tracey Thorn’s Tinsel and Lights is playing on the stereo. I’ve made tea and ginger bread cookies and now the windows are Christmas decorated as well. The shop is open tonight until 6 pm, Friday 11-6 pm and Saturday-Sunday 11-4 pm. Welcome!

‘Wool month’ at manos!

Wednesday, October 17th, 2012

To be honest, it is quite woolly all year round here, but now it is especially so. Today I re-displayed the windows: wool blankets and shawls from for instance Rio Rio and Knätofs, gorgeous organic wool clothes for babies and children all from Nuno&Dodo and a beautiful felted and needled small organic wool mat by Sara Söderberg. See a lot more window displays here.
